There are two ways a page can be created.
The first way is to use the green "Add new" button:
Doing this will bring up a screen where you can choose:
- Where in the tree to put the page; and
- What type of page to create
In step 1 you have two options: create a top level page or create a page under another page.
The page types that are available to select from in step 2 will change depending on what has been selected in step 1. As mentioned previously, this is because some page types can only be created under certain page types, so it all depends on the type of the page selected in step 1.
The second way is to use the right-click context menu:
This method will bypass the second screen as the page will be created directly under the one right-clicked on and you can choose a page type from the menu itself.
